TaHsp70d promoter

A heat-inducible promoter belonging to the heat shock protein family (Xue et al., 2014). Heat shock factors contribute greatly to heat adapation in their eukaryotic hosts. They are transcription factors with domains enabling higher affinity binding to DNA and recruit other regulatory transcription machinery. TaHsp70 is an endogenous wheat promoter with active mRNA expression in response to higher than ambient temperatures. The promoter has optimum activity after 1.5 hours of being induced at 36 degrees Celsius in wheat leaf cells. By engineering biobricks under the control of this temperature regulated promoter, downstream gene expression can be controlled in a heat titratable manner.
